New app simplifies piping design for pneumatics

Parker Hannifin has recently introduced its latest web app, Transair Piping Designer. The innovative tool is designed to streamline the process of designing and specifying Transair piping networks for compressed air, making it simpler and more efficient for engineers, distributors and contractors.

The web app offers advanced technical features that improve the design process. Users can make use of 2D and 3D rendering functions to visualize their network designs, enabling a comprehensive understanding of component layout and spatial relationships before installation. This feature improves accuracy and helps identify potential design errors early in the process. At the beginning of a project, users are guided through an introduction where they are prompted to enter key network characteristics through the sizing function, such as compressor power, desired flow rate, pressure, network length, number of points of use, number of network rings and compressor room specifications. Based on this information, the tool can preselect technical specifications and design options, including network diameters, connection types, predefined kits, directional changes in the network and relevant accessories, making piping network design significantly easier. This streamlined approach greatly reduces initial planning time and ensures that the design is optimized for performance.

Transair Piping Designer provides step-by-step guidance throughout the design process and automatically adds necessary components, such as elbow fittings, during pipe layout creation. In addition, users can upload a customer’s PDF drawing into the tool and scale it appropriately, allowing the Transair network to be drawn directly within the same document, known as blueprinting. The integration of existing plans improves collaboration and accuracy in project execution. Users can also export a comprehensive data summary, including sizing notes, drawings and bills of materials, at any point during the quotation process, simplifying communication with customers and stakeholders.

The web app guarantees up-to-date information because it is connected to Parker’s other digital platforms, including MyParker. Thanks to this integration, users gain access to current information on product specifications, stock availability and pricing, enabling them to make informed decisions throughout the design and quotation process. The app includes a collaborative platform with real-time pricing and quotations. It is designed for flexibility and enables distributors and engineers to independently configure piping designs while integrating expert input as needed. This collaborative platform ensures accuracy through real-time stock availability and pricing, streamlining the management of compressed air piping projects. By providing instant quotations, users can maintain project budgets and improve procurement efficiency.

– We believe that Transair Piping Designer will revolutionize the industry. It gives users the tools they need to design and quote projects smoothly, while improving accuracy and efficiency, says Olivier Gangloff, Application Engineer at Transair Piping Systems.

With the launch of Transair Piping Designer, Parker reinforces its commitment to providing innovative solutions that meet customers’ evolving needs. The web app not only simplifies the design process but also improves collaboration between engineers and distributors, paving the way for more efficient project execution.
