Eco Log Introduces a New Valve Platform in Collaboration with Bosch Rexroth

Forestry machinery manufacturer Eco Log has become the first company in the world to fully integrate Bosch Rexroth’s new RM Global valve platform into a production machine. The platform is used in the company’s new harvester model 688G and represents a significant step forward in hydraulic control for mobile working machines.

The initiative is the result of a long-term collaboration between Eco Log and Bosch Rexroth, in which the hydraulic supplier was involved from an early stage of development. By working in parallel with the machine design and the layout of the hydraulic system, the partners were able to optimize the integration of the new valve platform for high precision and stable performance.

A Modular Valve Platform for Modern Machines

RM Global is a new generation of modular load-sensing valves designed to meet the growing demands for flexibility, compact design, and energy efficiency in today’s mobile hydraulic systems. The platform is based on a unified architecture that allows different valve sizes and functions to be combined without increasing system complexity or installation space.

The internal flow paths are optimized to reduce pressure losses and internal leakage, contributing to improved energy efficiency and more responsive machine movements. At the same time, the design supports high operating pressures, which is essential in applications involving heavy loads and dynamic motion.

Improved Control and Operating Characteristics

In Eco Log’s harvester, the RM Global platform is used to control crane functions, where requirements for precision, smoothness, and repeatability are particularly high. The new solution provides more predictable and stable operation, while also contributing to reduced noise levels and lower internal leakage compared with previous valve generations.

Extensive field testing has been carried out during the development phase, with technical specialists involved to ensure reliable performance under real operating conditions, including varying loads and climates.

A Step Toward the Future of Hydraulics

By introducing RM Global in a series-produced machine, Eco Log demonstrates how modular, high-performance valve platforms can support more efficient machine design and improved functionality in demanding working environments. The solution also reflects a broader trend in hydraulics, where system integration, energy efficiency, and flexibility are becoming increasingly important.

The launch of the new harvester model is planned for later this year, with series production to follow. Experience gained from this project may also influence the development of other mobile machines where advanced hydraulic control is key to productivity and operator comfort.
